If you were to be foolish enough to believe what the media has to say you would think that the credit bureaus are set up to help the consumer. If you believe that then I guess you also believe in the lockness monster or maybe bigfoot.

Looking at the big picture from outside looking in it would appear that the credit bureaus are setup to help the consumers. Although that is noble idea it couldn’t be further from truth. A wise person once said that you should never bite the hand that feeds you. The credit bureaus are no different they will never bite the hand that feeds them.

Do you know how much money the credit bureau’s make by helping you? Zero zip nada. There is no benefit for them helping you to repair your credit. It is crucial that you remember at all times during the credit bureau dispute process that you understand how the credit bureaus work & who’s side they are really on. The main objective of their organization is to collect your information & sell it to business owners. Since you now have an understanding that the credit bureaus are indeed a business you should also consider that goal of all businesses on the face of the planet. That goal is to make a profit…

Let’s touch on what you have discovered so far. You should now know that the credit bureau’s are considered to be big business & the goal of all business is to make a profit. With that understanding take a second to consider this… If the credit bureaus where to help the consumer they wouldn’t make any revenue. The bottom line is it’s all about the money & you are the one that ends up loosing out if you don’t understand how the process works.

The credit repair battle is fought on two fronts simultaneously. The first front is the battle for establishing new lines of credit. This is pretty easy battle & can be won rather quickly. The second front is paper battle that is fought via credit bureau disputes. This is series of written letters that you use to dispute your claims. Although this process may seem a little grim from onset there is little light at the end of the tunnel. There are a few laws in place that will force the credit bureaus to meet certain guide lines.

After mailing out your letters of disputes the credit bureaus have 30 days to investigate & respond to your allegations. If they fail to respond by law they have to remove any accusations that you have disputed.

A recent survey that I had taken shows that 93% of individuals that attempt to repair their own credit will use a template that they have found on the Internet. This is HUGE mistake because the credit bureau’s are aware that this is template which is sure giveaway that you don’t know what you are doing. They have an arsenal of tricks that they will use to trick you into extending the 30 day process. For example they will give you a friendly little call asking questions about your dispute letter.

At first it seems like a harmless call but in reality if you take the call it resets the time & gives the credit bureaus an additional 30 days. The best way to avoid getting caught up in the credit bureau’s spider web of deception is to avoid them by any means necessary until the 30 days are up.
