What’s Wrong With My Car?

In today’s times everyone owns a car & you are no exception. In fact not only do you own a car but your lives depend on it. You use your car to get to work to run your errands to see your friends & family & to take you on vacation. So no wonder it worries you when your vehicle starts making noises you’ve never heard before. So are the noises from normal aging of your car or does it need mechanical attention?

While all machines make different noises as they age & yes your car is machine there are some noises that indicate there is problem. The thing you need to know is which noises are normal & which noises are the ones you should take your car to the mechanic for.

Some noises that are not normal are high pitch squeals grinding sounds & vibrating sounds. Anytime you hear these types of noises you want to have your cars check immediately. If you listen carefully you can actually hear where the noise is coming from so you can explain it to your mechanic. Also note when it’s making the noise. Is it when you brake or accelerate? Or is it when it’s idling?

Keep in mind when you are braking & it makes a noise then it’s probably a brake problem. Which usually means something in your brake system needs replacing. Your brake system is made up of brake pads rotors & calipers. Either of those or all of those can be worn down & be causing the strange sound.

Failure to do so may result in further damage to your car. This can be fatal especially if the problem is engine related. The engine itself makes all kinds of noises when it’s operating in good health & in bad. However if something’s going wrong with your engine typically you’ll know.

Another way to know if you are having a problem is by your vehicles performance. If your car is running differently than usual then you should take it in to a mechanic. Keep an eye out for poor gas mileage rough acceleration very hard starts not starting & rough idling. Pay close attention to your car. Most families can’t afford to lose their car or buy a new one.

There are a few things you can do to keep these things from happening though. First off change your oil when you’re supposed to & get the tune ups at recommended dates. Have your brakes suspension & undercarriage checked every few months for problems. Finally drive easy your car is your friend & if you take care of it it will take care of you.

Knowing your life depends on your car running at it’s best its easy to see why taking care of it so important. Keep it in good shape & have it check regularly. Also make sure to listen & feel for any problems that may arise. If changes or noises pop up take it in for a check up asap.
